Privacy and cookies

Matrix Jewellery is the trading name of Feras Elsawi, 111 New Union Street, Coventry, CV1 2NT, United Kingdom, an independent Coventry-based jewellery brand. "Matrix" ("we") is responsible for the personal information you give us when you contact us. This page explains what this website does, and what happens to an enquiry.

This website

This website is a showcase. It has no accounts, no online checkout and no contact form that stores anything. (Our separate Private Design Studio does have sign-in: see below.) It does not set cookies, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Its fonts and images are served from the website itself. Because there are no cookies other than ones strictly needed (there are none), there is no cookie banner to accept or decline. If that ever changes, we will ask for your choice first.

If you follow a link to Instagram or to a news article, that site has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies.

When you contact us

If you email or message us, we receive what you send: your name and contact details (including a telephone number only if you choose to give us one), your message, and any photos or sketches you share. Using the "Email Matrix" button only opens your own email app with a message prepared; nothing is sent until you send it.

Why we use it, and who handles it

We use it to reply to you, to discuss your idea if we choose to respond, and to keep our business records. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running the business and responding to enquiries, and, where you ask us to take steps before any agreement, taking those steps at your request. Your messages pass through the services you choose to contact us with, such as your own email provider, our email provider and Instagram. If you give us a telephone number, we may call you from a private number to reply; we do not publish a telephone number or promise telephone availability. We do not sell your personal information.

The Private Design Studio

The invitation-only Private Design Studio (studio.matrixjewellery.com) is for people aged 18 or over. If you ask for access we keep your name, email address and 18+ confirmation to decide whether to invite you. If you are invited and sign in, we keep your email address and sign-in records, and if you send a design we keep it with your name, your note and a picture of the design. The Studio sets no cookies and uses no tracking; it keeps your sign-in and unsent design in your browser's session storage until you close the tab. The Studio shows a design subtotal, but the subtotal is not stored or sent. Please don't send health information

We do not need dental or other health information to respond to an enquiry. Please do not include it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as is needed to deal with them and for our business record-keeping. You can ask us to delete an enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing matrixenquires@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
