Looking after your jewellery.
General guidance for looking after jewellery in silver and gold. It is guidance, not a guarantee. Ask us for advice on a particular piece.
Wearing
Put your jewellery on after perfume, cosmetics and hair products. Take it off for swimming, bathing and exercise, and keep it away from chlorine, bleach and household cleaning products.
Storing
Store each piece separately in a pouch or lined box, with the clasp fastened, somewhere dry. This stops chains scratching each other and tangling.
Cleaning gold
Wash gently in warm water with a little mild soap, use a soft brush for the links, rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Cleaning silver
Sterling silver darkens naturally over time. Wipe it regularly with a soft silver polishing cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Checking
Look over the clasp and links from time to time. If something looks worn, stretched or damaged, stop wearing it and contact us.
